Making the decision to place your loved one into assisted living can be daunting and stressful. You want to do what is best for them and provide them with the care they need, without sacrificing their freedom and the comfort of home. Will the care they require be available at any given facility? Will the staff take care of my loved one? Will the environment further their decline? What happens if they need memory care? How can I possibly make this decision?

The decision process can be overwhelming, but Brookdale Troy Assisted Living & Memory Care can answer all these questions and provide the amenities your loved one needs.

Brookdale Troy Assisted Living & Memory Care has been providing safe and comfortable assisted living and memory care services for 22 years. They are a haven for families seeking comfort, quality care, and a vibrant community atmosphere for their ailing loved ones. Brookdale, tucked back in the suburbs of Troy, is not its own community, but instead part of the community, with Troy High School as a close neighbor. With the comfort and safety of the residents in mind, Brookdale was meticulously designed to combine functionality with a comforting style, providing residents with unparalleled care from the Brookdale team that is far from being cold and sterile.

Upon arrival at the facilities, Mayor Ethan Baker, Tara Tomcsik-Husak (President & CEO of the Troy Chamber), Sydney Dych (Director of Marketing & Events of the Troy Chamber), and myself were kindly greeted by Dan Gruszka (Sales & Marketing Manager of Brookdale Troy), Tara Hannon (Executive Director of Brookdale Troy) and his amazing staff with smiles and warm welcomes. They showed us the Assisted Living facility first and the three available floor plans (studio, kitchenette, and deluxe) on each of their three floors, then the Memory Care Facility. The Troy location boasts an on-call LPN and personal care assistance twenty-four hours a day with an extensive list of services and amenities meant to engage the over one hundred residents daily.

“You feel like you are in a Troy subdivision here,” Mayor Baker said as we toured the facility. “It’s nice to know there is an option for those who don’t want to leave Troy.”

Tucked away on a quiet street, the danger of a busy road is not a factor for the residents or their families at Brookdale. Instead, they are provided the pleasure of frequent wildlife sightings and performances from the Troy High School band.

“The point is to make sure that all Troy residents are comfortable,” Tara said. “It’s clear that the safety of residents is of the utmost importance to your team.”

Dan Gruszka mentioned that some members of their team have been working in the memory care facility at Brookdale for over a decade, despite all that has happened in the industry since the start of the pandemic.

Brookdale simplifies the transition to assisted living, making it a place where residents can truly feel at home. Whether you are just starting the transition and have questions or are looking to make the official move for your loved one, Brookdale will be there to help.
